Scrapbooking Layout – Breeding Lice

Hello once again!

Today I bring you the last installment of my Chinese Whispers game!

For this set, my layout was the last in the series, and this series is the one where each layout is almost unrecognisable from the previous one and no resemblance to the original sketch!

Here is the sketch:

First take on the sketch by Michelle:

Who then passed it on to Lis:

Who then passed it to Helen:

And finally, my take on Helen’s layout:

This layout was hilarious to make, and a couple of people have commented on scrapbooking something so gross. But, hey, why not? Why scrapbook about first steps, first words, first everythings… So first lice infestation too! 😀

Thanks for joining me today and read you soon!

Scrapbooking Layout – Lego caterpillar

Hello everyone and happy Monday!

Today’s layout is part of a crafty game that I took part on the Mind The Scrap group, called Chinese Whispers. The concept is very simple: One person creates a layout based on a sketch, then sends it to person number 2 to scraplift, who then passes on to person three and then four (or as many people as you want in your group!). There were four of us in my group.

So today I am going to show you the first set of Chinese whispers that started with me. I based my layout on a sketch I found on Pinterest, and created my layout with my June Lottie Loves Paper kit. Here it is:

And here is the sketch:

I then passed on my layout to Helen, she passed hers to Lis, who passed hers to Michelle. Here are the next three:

Scrapbooking Layout – Bedtime

Hello friends!

On Saturday I attended an all day crop in Bracknell. I was a bit late, though, as I also went to the theatre with the kids in the morning (I wouldn’t have missed their first theatre experience for anything in the world! and I am already looking forward to scrapbooking that event). So I got to the crop at around 1:30 pm and I stayed until 9:30pm. So a long time! Sadly, I wasn’t feeling 100% and I only completed 4 layouts in total, so not my most productive day but I still had a great time.

The first layout I want to show you, I actually started at home a few days earlier. I used a very similar technique than in my layout called Hello Scooter. I die cut some star shapes with my Big Shot and then splattered all over them with watercolours and some Heidi Shine too. I then stitched around the star shapes with black thread.

And here it is:

Since the layout is already so busy with the splatters, I decided to leave it pretty much untouched and only did a tiny bit amount of embellishing with some stars, a bit of journalling and the date.

Here’s a close up of the splatters:

I will post the other layouts in the next few days.

I hope you have liked this layout, and read you soon!

R is for Red challenge

Hello lovely readers!

We have started a brand new weekly challenge over on For the Love of Pretty Paper facebook group. Last week the letter was B and the stash item to use were buttons. This week the letter is R and we have to use the colour red or be inspired by red on our layouts.

And these are the two layouts I have created so far! I may make one or two more by the end of the challenge week (next Friday) but I can’t promise anything!

You and me watching the footy

I really struggled to come up with my first layout featuring red. So I stopped to think what did red remind me of? And it came straight away. Red reminds me of Spain! So this is how this layout came to life:

You’ve got style

I decided to go a bit messy with a mixed media layout. I am still not sure that messy mixed media is “my thing”, I much prefer clean layouts, but these are fun to create from time to time. The secret is to keep adding things, even when you think you’re done! So I added acrylic paint with the bubble wrap technique, watercolours with the packaging technique, mists through a stencil, splatters and a bit of stamping too! I also added some cross stitching 🙂

Thanks for visiting everyone! and hopefully I will read you very soon!

Cyber Krop

Hello everyone!

So yesterday afternoon/evening I got to participate in an online crop. It was like doing NSD all over again! It was actually great fun, because it was done with a very small group of people (I would say there were about 15 of us participating yesterday) so it felt cozy and very personal. The Cyber Krop was hosted by Katie and Julie, who run the Inspired by Memories group on Facebook.

There were 5 challenges yesterday but I only managed to make 4, which is amazing due to time constrictions and having the kids in the house in the afternoon, and then having to have dinner, and put them to bed and all of that! I did something that I hadn’t done in a very long time and scrapped well into the night! I went to bed at almost 1am!!!

So here are the challenges and my layouts:

Challenge 1: Make a layout inspired by the sketch below, with one rule: Ripped paper! (I don’t “do” ripped paper, so I kept it to a minimum)

You lift my heart up

Challenge 2: Theme is The Outdoors, and the layout must include 3 embelishment clusters, Layers, A hand cut title, buttons
and enamel dots and/or bling.

Challenge 3: Theme is “Let’s Eat”

Thai red fish curry

Challenge 4: Choose a title from these 3 words: Grow, change or thrilled. Use at least 3 of these mixed media techniques: stitching, gelatos, watercolours, mists, inks, enamel (and a few more that I can’t remember right now)

So thrilled

I didn’t get to even start thinking about challenge 5, and there will be a few more this afternoon, so we’ll see how many I get done in the end!

Thanks for visiting!
