Stuck Sketches – First Day of School

Hello everyone!

It’s the first of December, so time again for a new amazingly gorgeous sketch by Laura!

As it is December, I was very tempted to do a festive / Christmassy layout, however, I haven’t got any printed photos yet! So I had to work with something I already had, and I still have a few “First Day of School” photos to scrap, so that is what I went for! Here is my layout:

As you can see, the sketch calls for two photos, however I went for just one. It has been said many times before, but I will say it again: sketches are a starting point and can be interpreted! You don’t have to necessarily follow it to the T!

And here are a couple of close ups:

Scrapbook layout – Picture perfect

Hi friends!

This is the third and last layout that I made at the Scrap Cafe crop on Saturday. I used papers from the “Tealightful” collection by Pebbles, and the embellishments are mainly Cocoa Vanilla Studio, from the “Love Always” collection. Both purchased from Lottie Loves Paper.

I had to retouch the mixed media under the papers once I got home, as what I added at the crop was mainly hidden by the papers. And as you can see, I went fro a cream textured cardstock, rather than pure white and I think it looks great!

Scrapbooking Layout – A letter to my father

Hello everyone!

This is a very small Throw Back Thursday, since the layout is only two weeks old! But I completely forgot to blog about it when I finished it, so here it finally is!

I started this page ages ago, in May… I applied gesso to the patterned paper background and then smeared some gold paint. Unfortunately, I hated the final result. Some people said to not give up and keep adding layers of mixed media. And that’s what I did. I wanted to make a layout about my dad, and because of the content of the letter, I knew I wanted the layout to be messy… hence I rescued the page.

So I added lots of ink sprays, modelling paste, more paint, splatters, stamping… And now I actually love how it’s turned out!

Here it is:

I know this is not my usual style, but I love getting messy with mixed media from time to time!
