Scrapbooking layout – Hat testing

Morning!

Today I am playing aling with Stuck! Sketches, with their mid month sketch challenge. And this is the layout I came up with!

Hat testing

This is the sketch that the layout is based on:

stuck sketches mid march

I used Shimelle’s True Stories collection (still my most favourite collection of hers!) and a tiny bit of Echo Park Paper Crative Agenda. The thickers are Rainboots and Marquee. I hand stitched a border around the page using some Stampin Up floss that I got with a card kit ages ago I just felt the colour was a good match with the papers!

The photos are not the best photos, however I really wanted to scrap them because they are from a very sweet moment that I shared with my daughter. Our twins spend 99% of their time together, so this was one of these rare moments when I was just with her and we were playing around 🙂

Scrapbooking layout – Favourite hair

Hi all!

Today I am participating in two challenges. One over at Stick it Down with a sketch by Laura Rumble (I must say that it is not an easy one! It really took some thinking and some playing around until I found a layout that would work for me) and as the layout is so Monochromatic, I will also be entering it in the Colorful Creations mid-month challenge 🙂

Here is the sketch:

And here is the layout that I came up with!

Favourite hair

This layout is goint to go in “the book of me“. When I created my Crazy Hair Don’t Care layout recently, I had to make it without any photos of my blue hair, as I couldn’t find any decent ones anywhere (I did find two, but they were scans of not so clear images, so they didn’t print very well) But a couple of weeks after making that layout I finally found this photo of me with blue hair! Yay! I absolutely loved my hair like this, and sometimes I wish I had the guts to have it done again! Unfortunately I am not 20 years old any more….

The papers are from Echo Park Creative Agenda. The tickers are Fitzgerald and the heart stencils are from The Happy Scatter, a shop on Etsy and the lady who runs it is a fellow scrapbooker from the UK! And that is pretty much it! The layout is so simple! I created the paste to put through the stencil with modelling paste and ink sprays. To get this colour, I mixed Turquoise Shimmer Mister, Teal Heidi Shine and a touch (literally, one drop) of Mr Huey’s Double Yellow. I am very pleased with how well the paste coordinates with the papers.

Scrapbooking Layout – Il Mafioso

Hello!

This layout has been created to participate in the February Challenge over at the Stick It Down blog. This is the first time that I am participating, so I have no idea whether I am doing it properly 😀

This is the sketch for the challenge:

And this is my take on it!

Il mafioso

All the circles are from the Studio Calico “Atlantic” collection. It is an old one, and I have been forcing myself to use my old stash… as a way to justify all my newer purchases! There are also a few Shimelle wood buttons from her Go Now Go collection and some enamel dots from my stash.

The title is done with the pink paislee C’est La Vie alphas, which I love how big they are! My title is not that long, but the alphas fill almost the whole length of the page!

I hope you have liked this layout and thanks for visiting!

Scrapbooking process – Sunshine and smiles

Hello all!

On Sunday last week I managed to get a little break from the chaos in my house and sat down to create a layout. I originally wanted to follow a sketch that I found on the UK Scrappers forum, however, after looking at it for ages I decided to go with my own flow and see what happened!

UKS challenge

So as you can see, I started following the sketch by adding some washi tape however that’s where all resemblance with the sketch ends! I am happy that I followed my flow as I am very happy with the finished product.

The surrounding background paper is from Simple Stories “Whatever” collection. The washi tapes are from Ikea! (yes! Ikea do washi tape too!) and the rest of the embellishments are from Fancy Pants “Life is Beautiful” Collection.

I hope you like it and read you soon!
