Today I am over on the Silhouette UK blog with a step by step tutorial on how to create a background made with circles for either scrapbooking or cardmaking. Please pop over to the blog to check it out!
This is the layout that I have created. I have used Pink Paislee’s Oh My Heart papers for my circles and the embellishments are mainly from Maggie Holmes Chasing Dreams and a couple of bits from Pink Paislee’s Take Me Away (and some other bits and pieces from my stash)
I hope you have liked this layout and thanks for popping by!
Hello lovely fellow scrapbookers!
Today I am on the UK Scrap Addicts blog with a new post and YouTube video! Be prepared for a laugh, because I really struggled with this layout (mojo had abandoned me!) and the video has got a couple of laugh out loud moments…
Anyway, here’s a sneaky preview, so pop over the blog for more more more!
I hope you like it and read you soon!
Hello Silhouette friends!
I am over on the Silhouette UK blog today with a step by step tutorial on how to create geometric backgrounds from scratch! And I would say it is easy enough for beginners to try too!
If you saw the layout I made the other day called “Motherly Love”, you can see I used a geometric background. I shared it on Facebook and I got a few complements on the cut file, so that inspired me to create this tutorial as I know a few people would like to make their own one, and it’s not that complicated… they just need to be shown!
Anyway, please pop over the Silhouette UK Blog and have a look!
And here’s a closer look to the card that I created specially for this tutorial. I used Paige Evans “Take me away” 6×6 papers. The Happy Birthday sentiment is from a Stampin’ Up! set.

Hello lovely scrapbookers!
I attended the Artful Angels crop yesterday and had a lovely day, however, I was not very productive! I only managed to complete three layouts (although one of them was particularly difficult – I’ll show you that one tomorrow). I blame the girls I sat with… too much chatting!
The first layout that I created is the one that I want to show you today. I prepared the cut file on my Silhouette the night before as I knew what I wanted to do, which is unusual for me! I knew I wanted that design of cut file and I knew I wanted to use my Lottie Loves Paper kit papers. So off I went!
This is my photo:
And a couple of close ups:
As I said above, I used Cocoa Vanilla Studio “Wild at Heart” collection mainly (it came with my April Lottie Loves Paper kit) and the navy paper with tiny white dots is from Shimelle’s Little by Little, but I felt that it went very well with the other papers and with the dress I am wearing in the photo!
I had a little incident when cutting the pattern paper for backing behind the cut file. I accidentally cut through the branding strip and I didn’t realise until it was way too late, as the glue had hardened and there was no way to remove it without damaging the cardstock! So I ended up covering it with a phrase sticker.
The alphas for “motherly” are also Cocoa Vanilla Studio, from a collection called Color Me Happy. They are white and I used watercolours to do an ombré effect. I love how they turned out! I tried applying watercolours to the foam thicker (“love”) but it didn’t work at all.
I hope you have liked this layout and read you soon!
