Second Paige Taylor Evans and BOAF workshop

Hello lovely crafters!

On Saturday I attended my second workshop with the ladies of Birds of a Feather and the super talented Paige Evans. She is due to go back to America in June, so I have a feeling this was the last chance we got to work with her up close and personal!

She came up with four gorgeous layouts, designed with her newest collection with Pink Paislee “Oh my heart”. And once again, I am so happy with all four of them!

This time I was a bit disorganised and I didn’t prepare the photos with the dimensions that we were advised to take. I had been so busy with UKSA, Lottie Loves Paper and Silhouette, that I just didn’t have the time! So what I did was take all the photos that I had already printed ready to scrapbook. As it turns out, with some strategic cropping, I was able to find everything that I needed and they suited the layouts too!

The workshop was at a different venue this time, and I must admit that the room was not as big as the one in Coventry and I felt a bit pushed for space. I had no room whatsoever to put my things, and I had packed very lightly! The lunch wasn’t as good either. Don’t take me wrong, what I had was perfectly fine, but there weren’t hardly any options to choose from and nowhere to sit! We had been told that it was going to be a finger buffet, but then they served foods that needed to be eaten with a fork and a knife… hardly finger food!

This time we were sitting in tables of two (versus long tables the previous time) and I sat with Christina, whom I already know from FTLOPP and the Artful Angels crop. She was a delight to be with, and we really got on very well! We had a photo taken together, but it is in her camera, so I need to wait for her to send it to me!

I also met so many familiar faces from the Internet world. As it turns out, the amazing Beata Valint was there too and I didn’t even realise! I met Nikki, who is in the Silhouette team with me, and Emma who is in the UK Scrap Addicts team too!

And without any further ado, here are my layouts!

Scrapbooking Layout – My Sweet Little Pirate

Hi all! Here’s another layout from my last crop.

My sweet little pirate is about how my daughter, completely out of the blue, decided one day that she wanted to play dress up… She never wants to play dress up… Even now, months after the event, she never wants to play dress up. So I thought that this memorable occasion needed to be kept forever! She even smiled for the camera!

As you can see, this layout is very minimalist, and I mostly used Echo Park’s “Pirate’s Life” Element Stickers. The glitter thickers are “Eclair”, and the other alphas from my stash.

I hope you like it and read you soon!

Scrapbook Layout – The beginning of our adventure

Hello all!

Yesterday I attended my second crop of the month (gasp!) and it was with the lovely Artful Angels ladies. This is one of the layouts that I made at the crop, and it is a scraplift from the lovely Sarah, who attends the crop and who is also the owner of Lottie Loves Paper, where I get my monthly embellishment kit from.

This is her layout which I scraplifted:

And this is my take on it!

The background stripey paper is from Kaisercraft “Back to basics” collection, and the butterflies are cut from my 6×6 Crate Paper “Chasing Dreams” paper pad. The “adventure” copper thicker is from Shimelle’s “Go Now Go” collection, and the other alphas are Basic Grey from my stash (similar to these ones)

I added some watercolour to the white cardstock using the packaging technique, and I also matted my photo in some pink and gold paper from my stash (do not know the manufacturer).

This is the very first photo that I have scrapbooked about my wedding, and I have really surprised myself using pinks, as the main colour scheme of my wedding was turquoise/teal and black… Maybe I will scrap another photo in those colours another time ๐Ÿ™‚

Scrapbook Layout – Beautiful family

Hello and welcome! I attended another crop on Saturday and I managed to finish four layouts! Yay me! I am actually so proud of myself, as I had a stinking cold on the day, not feeling 100% but I still gave it my all and came up with a couple of super great layouts! Despite feeling ill, I had a great time chatting with some of the Bracknell crew ladies ๐Ÿ™‚

Today I bring you: Beautiful family. This layout has two main objectives: 1) To use Lottie Loves Paper January kit and 2) to participate in For the Love of Pretty Paper’s February challenge (tic tac toe challenge)

I designed and cut the hearts myself on my silhouette and used a sheet of Shimelle True Stories paper (one of my favourite papers too!) for the background. The embellishments (gold word and hearts, enamel dots and sequins) are from Lottie Loves Paper February kit. In addition to that, I also used some gold Heidi Shine and the thickers for the word Family were also from my stash. To finish off the tic tac toe challenge, I also did some faux stitching around some of the hearts.

I am very pleased with how this layout came up! Here are some photos:

Scrapbooking Layout – Beautiful

As I get ready to attend another crop next weekend (Scrap Cafe in Bracknell), here I am sharing another layout that I made at the Artful Angels crop last month.

I added the stitching at home only recently, as I thought that it needed something else and it was looking a bit bare in the edges. And so glad I did! It really works very well.

I just used my watercolours directly into the cardstock, I didn’t prime it with gesso first. But it is a 300gsm cardstock, so very thick, and I knew that the watercolour would be fine on it.

I then borrowed a few tiny punches from the crop table and went through my stash looking for papers that would match the watercolours.ย The papers used under the photo and for the photo corners are from the gorgeous Sunshine and Happiness collection by Simple Stories. It is such a bright and colourful collection, I love it!

So, as you can see, a very simple layout, but I just love the simplicity of it and how the photo is still the focal point. I hope you like it!
