Scrap Cafe crop – June 2017

Morning everyone!

Yesterday (yes, on a Sunday!) I attended the monthly Scrap Cafe crop in Bracknell. I had no idea that it was going to take place until Georgia messaged me asking if I was coming… after arranging things with hubby, I said yes!

I had a great time chatting about all things crafty with like minded people, I really needed that! I wasn’t the most productive though and only managed two layouts, however I am very happy with both of them! It was quite warm in the room and I wasn’t feeling great, but I was happy to just sit there and chat.

I also tried a new approach and packed very lightly compared to every other time! I only took five or six thickers packs, a third of my embellishments, and a few already made kits (lottie loves paper mainly). And I must say that it worked quite well! I think my process is changing slightly and now I am ok with just using one collections or kit (rather than going through all my stash for one layout)

And without further ado, here are yesterday’s creations!

Hello Nutella

The papers in this layout are Cocoa Vanilla Studio and Shimelle (the navy one). I love how these papers look together and I have already used them before in this layout.

Push!

This layout is 99% Cocoa Vanilla Studio “you rock” and it is a scraplift, but I am quite happy how it turned out 🙂

Cyber Krop – Part 2

Hello all!

These are the other layouts that I made for the challenges for the Cyber Krop:

Challenge 5: Counting Sheep – something to do with dreams or nightmares, or someone sleeping.

A dream come true

Challenge 1a – Go Horizontal. The design in your layout has to go all the way from left to right.

Rocky is the best

Challenge 2a – Round and Round. The layout must feature circles and can only have red/yellow/blue (or a combination of) colours.

That twinkle in your eye

Challenge 3a – Ebony and Ivory. You can only use black and white in your layout and some mixed media (I actually forgot about the mixed media, doh!) You also have to include “empowered, proud and/or strong” (which I included in the journalling – I wish I had planned the journalling a bit better as it could have looked quite awesome)

The Loft

And that is it for me! I left two challenges undone as I felt quite drained by the end of it, it was a very exhausting and demanding weekend! Not sure I could do this all over again any time soon. I need a crafty break!

Thanks for popping by and read you soon!

Cyber Krop

Hello everyone!

So yesterday afternoon/evening I got to participate in an online crop. It was like doing NSD all over again! It was actually great fun, because it was done with a very small group of people (I would say there were about 15 of us participating yesterday) so it felt cozy and very personal. The Cyber Krop was hosted by Katie and Julie, who run the Inspired by Memories group on Facebook.

There were 5 challenges yesterday but I only managed to make 4, which is amazing due to time constrictions and having the kids in the house in the afternoon, and then having to have dinner, and put them to bed and all of that! I did something that I hadn’t done in a very long time and scrapped well into the night! I went to bed at almost 1am!!!

So here are the challenges and my layouts:

Challenge 1: Make a layout inspired by the sketch below, with one rule: Ripped paper! (I don’t “do” ripped paper, so I kept it to a minimum)

You lift my heart up

Challenge 2: Theme is The Outdoors, and the layout must include 3 embelishment clusters, Layers, A hand cut title, buttons
and enamel dots and/or bling.

Explore

Challenge 3: Theme is “Let’s Eat”

Thai red fish curry

Challenge 4: Choose a title from these 3 words: Grow, change or thrilled. Use at least 3 of these mixed media techniques: stitching, gelatos, watercolours, mists, inks, enamel (and a few more that I can’t remember right now)

So thrilled

I didn’t get to even start thinking about challenge 5, and there will be a few more this afternoon, so we’ll see how many I get done in the end!

Thanks for visiting!

Scrapbook Layout – My boy’s a dreamer

Hello lovelies!

Today I bring you my third and last layout that I created at the Scrap Cafe crop on Saturday. It is all about my dreamy boy!

I am afraid that I did not pay much attention to the materials that I used, so I won’t be able to give you a comprehensive list of items used. However, I do know that the background sheet is from Shimelle’s first collection (which I bought off Lisa Jane at the crop!) and the journalling sticker is from the Cool Kid collection. The rest of the elements are from my stash and I can’t remember the names, sorry!

Here is the main photo:

Anyway, I hope you have liked this layout!

See you very very soon on one of the many National Scrapbooking Day challenges that I will participating in!

Scrapbooking Layout – Loved

Hello everyone! Pinch, punch – first of the month!

Can you believe it is May already? I can’t! January and the beginning of the year still feels like yesterday! Which reminds me, by the way, that at some point I need to do a count of how many layouts I’ve done so far this year. I joined a group on Facebook called 216 Scrapbook Challenge. As the name pretty much explains, it is a challenge to create 216 layouts in a year. It sounds like a lot, and it is quite a lot. I think it’s something like 4 layouts a week. If I could make 4 layouts every week I would be a very happy person! Anyway… I will be doing a count soon and see how many I’ve done so far.

So! Today’s layout I created at the Artful Angels crop at the weekend. Paula, the lady who runs it, mentioned that there were a pair of fringe scissors to borrow so that inspired me to create a layout that I had seen on Pinterest before and had been wanting to make for a while.

Well, let me tell you… This was NOT easy. I really struggled with the whole concept. I wasn’t sure how the whole thing was supposed to come together! And I am not 100% happy with the finished product, but considerably happy seeing I struggled so much!

Here’s my layout and the page I was inspired by:

But with my struggles came knowledge, and I have been thinking about the whole process and where I think I went wrong and I know that if I was to try again, I would approach the whole project in a different way and try other techniques.

I hope you have liked this layout and read you very soon!

Oh! And before I forget… It’s National Scrapbooking Day this weekend! Don’t miss it!
