Yesterday (yes, on a Sunday!) I attended the monthly Scrap Cafe crop in Bracknell. I had no idea that it was going to take place until Georgia messaged me asking if I was coming… after arranging things with hubby, I said yes!
I had a great time chatting about all things crafty with like minded people, I really needed that! I wasn’t the most productive though and only managed two layouts, however I am very happy with both of them! It was quite warm in the room and I wasn’t feeling great, but I was happy to just sit there and chat.
I also tried a new approach and packed very lightly compared to every other time! I only took five or six thickers packs, a third of my embellishments, and a few already made kits (lottie loves paper mainly). And I must say that it worked quite well! I think my process is changing slightly and now I am ok with just using one collections or kit (rather than going through all my stash for one layout)
And without further ado, here are yesterday’s creations!
The papers in this layout are Cocoa Vanilla Studio and Shimelle (the navy one). I love how these papers look together and I have already used them before in this layout.
This layout is 99% Cocoa Vanilla Studio “you rock” and it is a scraplift, but I am quite happy how it turned out 🙂
I hope you have liked these layouts and thanks for visiting!
Hello and welcome again to my blog!
Today I am bringing you another layout that I created at the Scrap Cafe in Bracknell last weekend. This layout is a scraplift from the amazing Zoe Guest, a layout from her “stretch that collection” series. Her layout is called The Good Life and you can find it here.
By the way, did you know that Zoe did one of the most amazing things last month? She made her own version of March Madness, creating a brand new video every-single-day! Really incredible stuff. I bet she has raised quite a few bob for MIND!
So this is my layout that was inspired by her page:
And a couple more close ups:
Claire (Scrappy Nerd UK) helped me with the ruffling of the edges. I was trying to do it myself with a craft knife (I bite my nails, so I had no “self-tool” to do it!) but I was worried that I might damage the cardstock underneath. But she came to the rescue!
The papers used in the background and for backing my photo are from Dear Lizzy Saturday collection. The embellishments are a bit mixed. The happy faces and the word Super in the title are from Heidi Swapp and there are other elements from Kaisercraft and other bits and pieces from my stash.
I hope you have enjoyed this layout and read you soon!
Hello lovely likers!
On Saturday I was at the Scrap Cafe crop in Bracknell and had a super great time. I sat with Roxy and Claire (both of them are in the UK Scrap Addicts team) and also with Georgia and Amy, who were newbies.. this was their first time crop ever!
Unfortunately I wasn’t productive as I normally am, only finishing three layouts! I blame all the chatting and giggling… 🙂
The layout that I am bringing you today was the second layout that I created. I will show you the first one later on this week! And the third one that I created I can’t show you until next month, as I used a sketch that will only be reveal in May, in celebration of National Scrapbooking
Week, I mean, Day (06/05/17).
This layout was created for the April challenge over at For the Love of Pretty Paper. We have been given four different colour combinations to choose from and had to base our layout on these colours. The combination that I chose was “Bright and Cheery”. And this is my layout!
Here are the colour combinations for the challenge:
And a couple more of close ups.
I really enjoyed creating this layout, as it was very simple, clean and straight forward. No faffing around looking for pattern papers! I ended up doing hand-stitching over the vellum paper, however, I got my sewing machine out as Roxy said that she could set it up for me! Unfortunately, we struggled to get it going, and I have ended throwing the machine away. It has only given me problems since day one! Maybe I may try again in the future, if I have £50 laying around which I fancy spending on a new sewing machine…
Anyway, I hope you have enjoyed this layout and read you soon!
Hello! Today I bring you one of my latest layouts. This page was so quick to make! It is a scraplift directly from the Simple Stories blog. The fabulous background paper is called “No worries” and it’s just perfect for a cute little boy layout.
The background paper already has got so many elements that I didn’t feel the need to add much more, so I only added a couple of details here and there, but without making it so busy. The big “Loved This” thickers are from Dear Lizzy’s Saturday collection. There is also some ephemera from the Cool Kid collection.
And not much more to to add about this layout! I just love how easy it was to put together and how effective it looks!
And a close up:
Thanks for reading!
Today I bring you another layout that I made at the Scrap Cafe crop last weekend. I love how this layout came up! It is scraplifted from a very talented lady at the For the Love of Pretty Paper page, although I loved putting my spin on it!
The layout is part of the Book of Me. I talked about recently how the alphabetical prompts that I came up with were not suitable for scrapbooking layout format, since many of those prompts don’t have a photo. So, luckily, Paula – who came up with the idea of doing monthly prompts for the Book of Me in the facebook group, posted the prompt of “Decades” just the other day. The idea is scrapping a photo of you from a previous decade. I went with these photos of me from the very early 2000s, when I had my hair dyed in so many colours!
The pentagons die cut I designed from scratch and cut with my Silhouette Cameo. I found it simple enough to create, however I am aware that it is not perfect. The gaps between shapes are not all equidistant. For the papers I used Simple Stories Sunshine and Happiness and for the embellishments I went through my stash and combined lots of different manufacturers and collections. Theres Paige Evans Take Me Away, Simple Stories Posh, and a mixture of Bella Blvd Little Bits Stickers. I love how they all come together in the layout! The gorgeous colourful Thickers are from Shimelle’s new collection Little by Little.
The only thing that I don’t love about this layout is that the cut is not centred to the page, it is slightly crooked! If it keeps bugging me, I may trim the edges of the paper to make the pentagons be centred and then mat the cardstock on some pattern paper. But we’ll see if it bugs me or not!
So, here it is! I hope you like it 🙂
