It’s is the end of the month and here’s my recap video with all the layouts that I’ve created this month. We had National Scrapbooking Day (or weekend!) and I also attended a crop the following week, which means I have been considerably busy! Definitely busier than previous months!
Here’s my video and I hope you enjoy it!
I just wanted to come in quickly to let you all know that this weekend is (Inter)National Scrapbooking Weekend! (It’s actually “Day”, not weekend, but you know us scrapbookers, we like to make the most of things and we have turned one day into a whole weekend)
We decided not to run anything on UK Scrap Addicts as there were already so many groups having events, and with the new team having just joined, we really didn’t have that much time to organise anything properly. And from my experience in the admin team for FTLOPP last year, these things take a lot of organization!
So I have just been participating in challenges for For the Love of Pretty Paper, and I have completed three for the Mercy Tiara group. I am hoping to get at least two or three more today, and perhaps catch up with the ones I didn’t get to complete tomorrow, which is a bank holiday!
Read you soon!
I’ve got a very special layout for you today as it has been created for National Scrapbooking Day! The lovely Natalie, who is admin on For the Love of Pretty Paper, asked me to collaborate with one layout for one of the challenges that they are organising for NSD and I was more than happy to oblige! The challenge is to make a layout without using trimmers or die cut machines, etc… Just you and your scissors!
And here is my layout:
I fussy cut all the speech bubbles which are from Shimelle’s latest collection and I also cut by hand the background paper!
And I also have a YouTube process video for you!
I hope you will join us with all the super challenges that they have organised for the weekend!
Hello friends! I thought my YouTube channel was looking very bare the other day, so I decided to make a lookback video with all the layouts that I created during the month of May. It was a very busy month and I created almost 40 layout!!! Say whaaaat!
So here it is! I hope you enjoy it.
Thanks for visiting, and read you soon!
Today I wanted to show you one of my NSD layouts a bit more in detail. For two main reasons: it is my first ever A4 layout and secondly, it is a scraplift of a newly discovered talented scrapper.
This is my layout:
And this is the layout that I scraplifted:
So this was my first time doing a layout on A4 format. This format is actually very popular. In America they call it 8.5×11 (which is very similar to A4 size, and because A4 is readily available here, British scrappers will normally just use A4 rather than buying the other size from America).
I must admit that I found the format a bit odd. I am so used to square! Even when I was scrapbooking on 8×8, it was smaller but still square. The verticality of it worked with this layout though, but maybe only because I was scraplifting an already made layout and I wasn’t trying to come up with my own original work!
The designer that I copied is Victoria Marie. She has been around for a while but I have only just discovered her. I love her style, as it varies and it can be quite simple and striking or busier with lots of layers, etc. I liked this layout above that I chose to scraplift because it would force me to use tons of embellishments that I have been collecting over time, that I rarely even look at because they are just not my style. However I loved how she made them work on her layout. And I am quite happy how my layout turned out!
A couple more closeups:
I entered this layout on the NSD challenge about long journalling, and I tell the story of our first encounter with our first cat, Tommy. He is greatly missed and I wanted to make a layout about him.
I hope you have enjoyed this layout, and thanks for looking!
