Cyber Krop – Part 2

Hello all!

These are the other layouts that I made for the challenges for the Cyber Krop:

Challenge 5: Counting Sheep – something to do with dreams or nightmares, or someone sleeping.

A dream come true

Challenge 1a – Go Horizontal. The design in your layout has to go all the way from left to right.

Rocky is the best

Challenge 2a – Round and Round. The layout must feature circles and can only have red/yellow/blue (or a combination of) colours.

That twinkle in your eye

Challenge 3a – Ebony and Ivory. You can only use black and white in your layout and some mixed media (I actually forgot about the mixed media, doh!) You also have to include “empowered, proud and/or strong” (which I included in the journalling – I wish I had planned the journalling a bit better as it could have looked quite awesome)

The Loft

And that is it for me! I left two challenges undone as I felt quite drained by the end of it, it was a very exhausting and demanding weekend! Not sure I could do this all over again any time soon. I need a crafty break!

Thanks for popping by and read you soon!

Cyber Krop

Hello everyone!

So yesterday afternoon/evening I got to participate in an online crop. It was like doing NSD all over again! It was actually great fun, because it was done with a very small group of people (I would say there were about 15 of us participating yesterday) so it felt cozy and very personal. The Cyber Krop was hosted by Katie and Julie, who run the Inspired by Memories group on Facebook.

There were 5 challenges yesterday but I only managed to make 4, which is amazing due to time constrictions and having the kids in the house in the afternoon, and then having to have dinner, and put them to bed and all of that! I did something that I hadn’t done in a very long time and scrapped well into the night! I went to bed at almost 1am!!!

So here are the challenges and my layouts:

Challenge 1: Make a layout inspired by the sketch below, with one rule: Ripped paper! (I don’t “do” ripped paper, so I kept it to a minimum)

You lift my heart up

Challenge 2: Theme is The Outdoors, and the layout must include 3 embelishment clusters, Layers, A hand cut title, buttons
and enamel dots and/or bling.

Explore

Challenge 3: Theme is “Let’s Eat”

Thai red fish curry

Challenge 4: Choose a title from these 3 words: Grow, change or thrilled. Use at least 3 of these mixed media techniques: stitching, gelatos, watercolours, mists, inks, enamel (and a few more that I can’t remember right now)

So thrilled

I didn’t get to even start thinking about challenge 5, and there will be a few more this afternoon, so we’ll see how many I get done in the end!

Thanks for visiting!

Scrapbooking layout – Super cool jeep

Hello everyone, and welcome again to my blog!

There was another mini challenge last night again on the Lottie Loves Paper facebook group, with a new sketch, and I played along!

This is my layout and the sketch it’s based on:

For this layout I used a new Echo Park collection called Just be you. I bought it recently and I thought I should use it rather than hoard it like I would normally do! It’s a really pretty collection with a darker green than I am used to, but I thought it suited these photos quite well any way. And I only used the collection! Apart from the date stamp and the little phrase stickers, every single item on this layout came from the pack! That’s so unusual for me!

Here are a couple more close ups:

I hope you have liked this layout and thanks for stopping by!

Scrapbook Layout – Tommy

Hello all!

Today I wanted to show you one of my NSD layouts a bit more in detail. For two main reasons: it is my first ever A4 layout and secondly, it is a scraplift of a newly discovered talented scrapper.

This is my layout:

Tommy

And this is the layout that I scraplifted:

scraplift

So this was my first time doing a layout on A4 format. This format is actually very popular. In America they call it 8.5×11 (which is very similar to A4 size, and because A4 is readily available here, British scrappers will normally just use A4 rather than buying the other size from America).

I must admit that I found the format a bit odd. I am so used to square! Even when I was scrapbooking on 8×8, it was smaller but still square. The verticality of it worked with this layout though, but maybe only because I was scraplifting an already made layout and I wasn’t trying to come up with my own original work!

The designer that I copied is Victoria Marie. She has been around for a while but I have only just discovered her. I love her style, as it varies and it can be quite simple and striking or busier with lots of layers, etc. I liked this layout above that I chose to scraplift because it would force me to use tons of embellishments that I have been collecting over time, that I rarely even look at because they are just not my style. However I loved how she made them work on her layout. And I am quite happy how my layout turned out!

A couple more closeups:

I entered this layout on the NSD challenge about long journalling, and I tell the story of our first encounter with our first cat, Tommy. He is greatly missed and I wanted to make a layout about him.

I hope you have enjoyed this layout, and thanks for looking!

National Scrapbooking Day Round Up 1

Hello everyone!

I really hope you have had an amazing NSD and that you have been inspired to get your stash out and work on some pages!

I was very lucky to play along on Friday night and most of the day on Saturday. My own personal challenge for NSD is to complete all the challenges posted on For the Love of Pretty Paper, and so far I am doing great, however I still have six to do!

Here are the first 11 (yes, ELEVEN!)

Challenge 1: Make a layout with a “Spring” or “Summer” theme. Use a photo taken in the Spring or Summer. Your title could include the word Spring or Summer.

Life's a beach

Challenge 2: Video Scraplift. Claire Murphy, Jess Claire and I created a scrapbooking process video and the idea was to watch the videos and choose one to scraplift. I chose to scraplift Jess’s, in Project Life format. Below are my original layout for the video and Jess’s scraplift.

Fun Summer Days

Evening walks

Challenge 3: Use the single page sketch and double page sketch from UK Scrap Addicts:

Bloom

Now and then

Challenge 4: UK Scrap Addicts cut files. There were several to choose from, and I chose the Mandala one. I didn’t cut it, though, just printed it and watercoloured it.

Follow your dreams

Challenge 5: Tic Tac Toe challenge. I created a tic tac toe grid with several techniques to use. I created two layouts, one as a sample for the challenge and one I created during the actual challenge! Here’s both.

Embarrassing moment

Laugh

Challenge 6: Songs and Films. Use a Song title, song lyrics  or Film Title or scrap about music/TV or films in some way! I went with the animated film The Gruffalo 🙂

We're going on a gruffalo hunt

Challenge 7: Video Scraplift. The same as challenge 2 but with videos from Sarah Roulston, Laura Rumble and Scrapbook Bex. I chose to scraplift Scrapbook Bex, although I still want to do the other two!

Easter Break

Challenge 8: Use a Big or Long Title or Lots of Journalling. I went for long journalling on a scraplifted page from Victoria Marie.

Tommy

Challenge 9: Scraplift your very first layout (or one of the first you ever made!)

My tribe

And this is it for now! I will come back at some point next week when I have finished all the remainder layouts!

Thanks for popping by!
