I am on the Silhouette UK Blog today with a quick tutorial on how to fill in text with patterns. This is ideal if you don’t have the right paper for your layout. The Silhouette Store has lots of printable patterns!
Please come over and have a look!

Today’s layout I made for a challenge over at the Mercy Tiara group. It was a tough challenge, I tell you!
The “recipe” was:
1. A theme of music and/or movies. This can be about a favourite song or movie or just a song or movie title as the title for the layout or even song lyrics or a quote from a movie
2. A grid style in part or all of the layout
3. Something black & white
5. A simple outline or sillouhette image, this can be stamped, stencilled or hand drawn
6. I’m scared to say it, but …. No letter stickers!
In addition to this list, there was also a tic tac toe challenge to go with it, and I also incorporated a line from the tic tac toe: Use a frame, stitching and use a list on your journalling.
And here it is! Unfortunately, these colours are hard to photograph!
Thanks for popping by and see you very soon!
Today I have a new layout that I scraplifted from the talented Raquel Bowman. I found it on Pinterest and I thought the style was so “me”, plus I have been loving circles lately, so it was perfect! You can see the original here.
And this is my layout:
I used Cocoa Vanilla Studio “You Rock” collection. It is such a gorgeous collection and I still have plenty! I think I can manage at least another 4 layouts (or even more if I maximise my scraps!)
I did some hand stitching in two of the circles, but the piercing guide that I used was only so big, so the stitching is not very near the edge as I would have normally done it, but I think it looks quite good anyway 🙂
Here are two more close ups:
Thanks for visiting today and I hope I’ll see you soon!
This layout is for the August challenge over at For the Love of Pretty Paper. The challenge is to make a layout about the seaside, but with a twist! You have to use the colour yellow, something circular, washi tape, half used sheet of stickers and washi tape.
And here is my layout:
I also decided to use a large photo and to make clusters of embellishments, which are the latest two prompts for UK Scrap Addicts. A couple more close ups.
I used the Endless Summer collection by Cocoa Vanilla Studio, which is absolutely gorgeous!

On Friday we chose a new letter for the weekly ABC challenge over at For the Love of Pretty Paper, and the new letter is N, and N is for numbers! This week we are asking members of the group to introduce numbers into their layouts, in any way they want! They can refer to a date, age, just random numbers as embellishments… anything!
So for my layout I decided to do a Top Ten of my favourite albums for my Book of Me (I will also be doing a Top Ten favourite films and another about TV shows at some point), and I must say that I love how the layout turned out! Here it is:
I picked a selection of pattern papers from some 6×6 pads and cut two stars with each pattern, one big and one small. I sued glittery thickers for my numbers and I also used other thickers for part of my title. I also stamped on my title, however, I think I am going to cover up the “of all time” with little alpha stickers as I am not too keen on how those little stamps look.
And here’s a close up:
