Hello lovely bunch!
Today I am over at UK Scrap Addicts with a new blog post and a video! Yes! You heard me right! My first ever scrapbooking process video… how exciting!
Please pop over the blog and have a watch, and leave a comment and a thumbs up whilst you’re there if you fancy!
Here’s a little sneak of my layout.
Read you soon!
Hello lovely likers!
On Saturday I was at the Scrap Cafe crop in Bracknell and had a super great time. I sat with Roxy and Claire (both of them are in the UK Scrap Addicts team) and also with Georgia and Amy, who were newbies.. this was their first time crop ever!
Unfortunately I wasn’t productive as I normally am, only finishing three layouts! I blame all the chatting and giggling… 🙂
The layout that I am bringing you today was the second layout that I created. I will show you the first one later on this week! And the third one that I created I can’t show you until next month, as I used a sketch that will only be reveal in May, in celebration of National Scrapbooking
Week, I mean, Day (06/05/17).
This layout was created for the April challenge over at For the Love of Pretty Paper. We have been given four different colour combinations to choose from and had to base our layout on these colours. The combination that I chose was “Bright and Cheery”. And this is my layout!
Here are the colour combinations for the challenge:
And a couple more of close ups.
I really enjoyed creating this layout, as it was very simple, clean and straight forward. No faffing around looking for pattern papers! I ended up doing hand-stitching over the vellum paper, however, I got my sewing machine out as Roxy said that she could set it up for me! Unfortunately, we struggled to get it going, and I have ended throwing the machine away. It has only given me problems since day one! Maybe I may try again in the future, if I have £50 laying around which I fancy spending on a new sewing machine…
Anyway, I hope you have enjoyed this layout and read you soon!
Hello all! Today I am over at the Silhouette UK Blog with a little tutorial on how I used one cut with my machine to create three different projects!
Because, if you are anything like me, you like to make the most of your scraps! (I am known to keep pieces smaller than two inches square, oops!) so being able to make three different scrapbook pages out of one cut is a win in my book!
I used a file from the Silhouette Store called Sunburst Square, but I am sure that this will work with any background files. I have used the cut as a stencil, the normal cut page and the negative space. And these are my layouts!
- Cheeky Smile. This was the first layout I made, as I used the cut as stencil and needed to be done first! I used acrylic paint and Heidi Swapp Color Shine for my background and then a mixture of elements from the Starshine collection and other enamel shapes from my stash. I also did a very very very lazy stitching around the border, as I felt that the page needed something extra. It is super lazy because there are only four holes in the page 😀
- Usual Suspects. This was the second one. My intention originally was to flip the cardstock and use the other side, as this side was all full of ink and paint splatters. However, I actually loved the way it looked, so I created my layout on this side! I love rainbows, so I had lots of fun creating this one with a mixture of pattern papers and buttons.
- Wonderful you. For this layout I used the remaining bits. I had added some perforated lines to the “rays” on the cameo, so I had stiched through most of them, using three different stitch patterns. This was actually quite fun to do! I attempted to channel my inner Missy Whidden doing some gesso and watercolour background, however, I think I still need lots of practice! For this layout I used mainly Pink Paislee’s Oh My Heart collection.
I hope you have enjoyed these layouts and thanks for stopping by!
Apologies for not posting anything in the last few days. I have actually been working hard on several projects all at once, but they are for the Silhouette Design Team so I can’t show you much at the moment!
I can, however, show you a little sneak peek of a few layouts that I have already finished but need to be kept secret for now! Shhhh…. Don’t tell anyone!
I will be able to show more very soon! Until then, thanks for stopping by!
Today I am playing aling with Stuck! Sketches, with their mid month sketch challenge. And this is the layout I came up with!
This is the sketch that the layout is based on:
I used Shimelle’s True Stories collection (still my most favourite collection of hers!) and a tiny bit of Echo Park Paper Crative Agenda. The thickers are Rainboots and Marquee. I hand stitched a border around the page using some Stampin Up floss that I got with a card kit ages ago I just felt the colour was a good match with the papers!
The photos are not the best photos, however I really wanted to scrap them because they are from a very sweet moment that I shared with my daughter. Our twins spend 99% of their time together, so this was one of these rare moments when I was just with her and we were playing around 🙂
A couple more close ups:
Thanks for stopping by and read you soon!
