Hello everyone and welcome to the last stop on today’s fantastic Blog Hop part of the National Scrapbook Day Blog Hop hosted by
the Facebook Group “For The Love Of Pretty Paper”
If you are following the hop you should have arrived here from Julie’s blog: https://jsquaredscrapspot.wordpress.com/
To be in with a chance of winning the Blog Hop prize you will need to comment on this post (and on all the blogs in the hop) and because this is the last blog in the hop now you need to return to the Blog Hop thread on “For The Love Of Pretty Paper” and leave a comment to let us know you have been all the way around the hop. Visitors who leave the same (or seen to be the same by the Organisers) comment on all the blogs will not be eligible for the prize. The Closing date for Blog Hop entries is Monday 8th May at 10pm. Only Uk addresses are eligible for the prize due to postage costs. Good Luck!
The theme for the Blog Hop is “Favourite Technique” and because I couldn’t choose just one technique, I chose two!
The first technique I want to talk about is mixed media. Just a few months ago I was scared of mixed media. Using anything other than just a few ink splatters on my layout really scared me. However, I have been doing it more and more, and now I can’t think of a layout where I don’t use some sort of mixed media! In this layout I went a bit crazy adding ink splatters of several different colours. Because the background is green, some of those splatters are a bit faint, but can be easily noticed when looking closely. I also added some texture paste with a stencil and although there are a couple of messy spots, I am actually quite happy with how neat it’s looking! The stencil is from Happy Scatter on etsy, and I just love love love it! I have a couple more stencils from this shop and I am always looking at ways to incorporate them into my layouts.
My second favourite technique is using sketches! Again, just a few months ago I had never used sketches and now I really love them as a starting point for quite a few of my layouts. The beauty of sketches is that you can follow them as loosely or closely as you want. You can copy each individual element or you can just be inspired by it. It’s a book open to interpretation! For this layout I have used one of UK Scrap Addicts sketches for this month:
And here are a few more close ups of my layout!

I hope you are enjoying this fantastic National Scrapbooking Day (aka = weekend!!) I have started early with a superb challenge over at For the Love of Pretty Paper. The challenge is to scrapbook about Spring or Summer, and I just happened to have the best embellishments ever from my latest Lottie Loves Paper kit! I have used the May Stuck? Sketches! sketch so I will be entering my layout there too 🙂
And here it is!
I painted the background with a bit of white acrylic paint to soften it a bit, and I actually love how it’s turned out. I also added some white and yellow splatters. The papers are from a very old Echo Park Paper collection called Spash. And the embellishments are from my Lottie Loves Paper kit, which is super fun and summery!
A couple more close ups:
I hope you have liked it, and thanks for popping over!
Hello everyone and welcome to National Scrapbooking Day!
I really hope you are enjoying all the challenges so far on For the Love of Pretty Paper! For this challenge, I am creating a layout for you to scraplift. A winner from all the entries will be chosen and be given a prize!
So for my layout today I have used the Endless Summer collection exclusively. If you follow me regularly, you will know that it is rare for me to just use one collection and not go through all my stash! But I wanted it to keep it really simple with this layout!
Here are a couple of photos and my YouTube process video! Please come over and say hello!
I really hope you will play along and choose my layout to scraplift! Happy scrapping!
Hello lovely likers!
It just occurred to me that you may not see much happening in here in the next couple of weeks as I get ready for NSD.
What is NSD, I hear you ask? It’s National Scrapbooking Day! Funny it’s called “National”, because it certainly is not just national, but INTERnational! The day started in the US and hence why it’s called National, however this “holiday” has been adopted by many other countries in the world! It will be happening on the weekend of 5th-7th of May.
I am taking place in two separate events (although they are both connected!). The first one is for For the Love of Pretty Paper facebook group. The event starts on Friday evening and finished on Sunday mid afternoon. In these two days there will be lots of challenges, prizes, games and chat. I am taking part in 5 challenges! Since I am hosting, I get to know the challenges in advance and prepare for them.
The second event is for UK Scrap Addicts. This event only takes place on Saturday, but there will also be lots of videos, challenges, prizes and blog posts. I am taking part in five of the challenges, so that means that I am very busy at the moment!
Hopefully you will be able to join us either on Facebook, on the UKSA blog and on YouTube that weekend!
Hello lovely likers!
On Saturday I was at the Scrap Cafe crop in Bracknell and had a super great time. I sat with Roxy and Claire (both of them are in the UK Scrap Addicts team) and also with Georgia and Amy, who were newbies.. this was their first time crop ever!
Unfortunately I wasn’t productive as I normally am, only finishing three layouts! I blame all the chatting and giggling… 🙂
The layout that I am bringing you today was the second layout that I created. I will show you the first one later on this week! And the third one that I created I can’t show you until next month, as I used a sketch that will only be reveal in May, in celebration of National Scrapbooking
Week, I mean, Day (06/05/17).
This layout was created for the April challenge over at For the Love of Pretty Paper. We have been given four different colour combinations to choose from and had to base our layout on these colours. The combination that I chose was “Bright and Cheery”. And this is my layout!
Here are the colour combinations for the challenge:
And a couple more of close ups.
I really enjoyed creating this layout, as it was very simple, clean and straight forward. No faffing around looking for pattern papers! I ended up doing hand-stitching over the vellum paper, however, I got my sewing machine out as Roxy said that she could set it up for me! Unfortunately, we struggled to get it going, and I have ended throwing the machine away. It has only given me problems since day one! Maybe I may try again in the future, if I have £50 laying around which I fancy spending on a new sewing machine…
Anyway, I hope you have enjoyed this layout and read you soon!
