Hello lovely readers!
We have started a brand new weekly challenge over on For the Love of Pretty Paper facebook group. Last week the letter was B and the stash item to use were buttons. This week the letter is R and we have to use the colour red or be inspired by red on our layouts.
And these are the two layouts I have created so far! I may make one or two more by the end of the challenge week (next Friday) but I can’t promise anything!
You and me watching the footy
I really struggled to come up with my first layout featuring red. So I stopped to think what did red remind me of? And it came straight away. Red reminds me of Spain! So this is how this layout came to life:
You’ve got style
I decided to go a bit messy with a mixed media layout. I am still not sure that messy mixed media is “my thing”, I much prefer clean layouts, but these are fun to create from time to time. The secret is to keep adding things, even when you think you’re done! So I added acrylic paint with the bubble wrap technique, watercolours with the packaging technique, mists through a stencil, splatters and a bit of stamping too! I also added some cross stitching 🙂
Thanks for visiting everyone! and hopefully I will read you very soon!
Hello lovely likers!
The admin team over at For the Love of Pretty Paper have started a new weekly challenge on the facebook group. It is called the “ABC challenge” as every week we will choose a random letter of the alphabet and pick a technique or stash item starting with that letter, and we have to make a layout with it.
So today is the first day of this challenge and the random letter that we have chosen is B, and the stash item is Buttons! I happen to have lots, so it was easy for me to incorporate them on my layout.
My layout is a scraplift from this one that I had pinned on Pinterest, and I also made a point of using old collections for my papers. I used some scraps that I still had left from two Lime Twist / My mind’s eye collections (Fly a kite & out of the blue). I am a tiny bit sad to have now finished using those collections, as they are old and no longer in stock anywhere, and I loved them! So bright and gorgeous!
And without further ado, here’s my layout:

I hope you have liked this layout and that you will join us in this weekly challenge over at For the Love of Pretty Paper!
Read you all soon!
Here’s another layout that I made last week for the Lottie Loves Paper mini challenge, based on a sketch by Shimelle. The sketch is perfect for lots of journalling so I thought it was time that I told the story of my love-hate relationship with my daughters love for the colour pink 🙂
Here’s my layout and the sketch it is based on:
I have used mostly Echo Park Paper “Creative Agenda” collection. The thickers are from the Take me Away collection by Pink Paislee.

Hello lovely friends!
Today I bring you a very quick layout that I created earlier this week for a mini challenge over at Lottie Loves Paper. Here is my layout and the sketch that it was inspired by:
And the sketch:
For this layout I used mainly Shimelle’s True Stories collection and some circle die cuts that I already had in my “odd shapes” box 🙂
A couple more close ups:
I hope you have liked this layout and thanks for popping by!
These are the other layouts that I made for the challenges for the Cyber Krop:
Challenge 5: Counting Sheep – something to do with dreams or nightmares, or someone sleeping.
Challenge 1a – Go Horizontal. The design in your layout has to go all the way from left to right.
Challenge 2a – Round and Round. The layout must feature circles and can only have red/yellow/blue (or a combination of) colours.
Challenge 3a – Ebony and Ivory. You can only use black and white in your layout and some mixed media (I actually forgot about the mixed media, doh!) You also have to include “empowered, proud and/or strong” (which I included in the journalling – I wish I had planned the journalling a bit better as it could have looked quite awesome)
And that is it for me! I left two challenges undone as I felt quite drained by the end of it, it was a very exhausting and demanding weekend! Not sure I could do this all over again any time soon. I need a crafty break!
Thanks for popping by and read you soon!
