Scrapbooking Layout – Bubbly Boy

Hello lovely likers!

On Saturday I was at the Scrap Cafe crop in Bracknell and had a super great time. I sat with Roxy and Claire (both of them are in the UK Scrap Addicts team) and also with Georgia and Amy, who were newbies.. this was their first time crop ever!

Unfortunately I wasn’t productive as I normally am, only finishing three layouts! I blame all the chatting and giggling… 🙂

The layout that I am bringing you today was the second layout that I created. I will show you the first one later on this week! And the third one that I created I can’t show you until next month, as I used a sketch that will only be reveal in May, in celebration of National Scrapbooking Week, I mean, Day (06/05/17).

This layout was created for the April challenge over at For the Love of Pretty Paper. We have been given four different colour combinations to choose from and had to base our layout on these colours. The combination that I chose was “Bright and Cheery”. And this is my layout!

I really enjoyed creating this layout, as it was very simple, clean and straight forward. No faffing around looking for pattern papers! I ended up doing hand-stitching over the vellum paper, however, I got my sewing machine out as Roxy said that she could set it up for me! Unfortunately, we struggled to get it going, and I have ended throwing the machine away. It has only given me problems since day one! Maybe I may try again in the future, if I have £50 laying around which I fancy spending on a new sewing machine…

Anyway, I hope you have enjoyed this layout and read you soon!

Scrapbooking Layout – Balcony Shenanigans

Hello lovely likers!

I am back again with another Scrapbooking Process video on youtube!! Whaaaat!!!

I must say, this is my third video and I am loving making them. I wish I had more hours in the day to make more videos! I am in real awe of all those scrappers out there who make videos almost every day AND have a job and run their families/homes. I wonder where they get the time from! At the moment I need to film my videos during the day, as I don’t have special lighting for my desk and rely on the daylight. However, I may ask for some lightboxes or similar for the next big event that requires presents (hang on, my birthday and Mother’s Day have just gone… will that be Christmas then? Heck, I can’t wait that long!)

So today’s layout is inspired by a challenge that Paige Taylor Evans set up on the Hey Little Magpie inspiration page on Facebook. The challenge is to use scraps or strips of leftover paper. And I have lots of scraps! So this challenge is ideal for me 🙂

Here is a photo of my finished layout:

And here is the youtube video! As I said the previous time, I am still learning and I appreciate any constructive criticism, whether it’s positive or negative, as long as it’s constructive I will take it into account! On my previous video a few people said that they preferred videos with voiceovers, and/or they found the music irritating. Unfortunately I don’t think I am ready to do voiceovers. I am so self concious of my voice/accent, and not being a chatty person, I found quite hard finding things to say… Anyway, I may give it a go in the future… not saying “never”, just “not for now”.

I hope you have enjoyed this layout.

Read you very soon!

Scrapbooking layout – Hat testing

Morning!

Today I am playing aling with Stuck! Sketches, with their mid month sketch challenge. And this is the layout I came up with!

Hat testing

This is the sketch that the layout is based on:

stuck sketches mid march

I used Shimelle’s True Stories collection (still my most favourite collection of hers!) and a tiny bit of Echo Park Paper Crative Agenda. The thickers are Rainboots and Marquee. I hand stitched a border around the page using some Stampin Up floss that I got with a card kit ages ago I just felt the colour was a good match with the papers!

The photos are not the best photos, however I really wanted to scrap them because they are from a very sweet moment that I shared with my daughter. Our twins spend 99% of their time together, so this was one of these rare moments when I was just with her and we were playing around 🙂

Scrapbooking Layout – Shy Girl

Hello!

Today I am participating in a new challenge. This time is for the Scrappin4fun blog, and this time the challenge is to use old stash. And man, have I used old stash! Yes I have!!

And here is my layout:

Shy girl

It is a scraplift from this gorgeous page that I found on Pinterest, and the materials used are:

  • Everyday Moments by Recollections papers (and they were all scrap papers too! Not a single new page was cut!)
  • Buttons and brads from my stash, which I have had for literally years!
  • The title is made with Prima alphabet stickers and Making Memories shimmer alphas (does Making Memories even exist any more!?) that I’ve had for a long long time!

And a couple more close ups:

I hope you have liked it and thanks for visiting!

Scrapbooking layout – Fine little day

Hi all!

This layout I made on Saturday as a challenge on the Lottie Loves Paper facebook page. The challenge was to use the following recipe:

  • 2 photos
  • At least three different patterned paper
  • A tag
  • Buttons/Flair
  • Yellow
  • Enamel
  • Handwritten journalling

I must admit that I really struggled. I sat down in front of my computer and started looking through Pinterest, I went backwards and forwards searching for inspiration, I even almost started two scraplifts! But in the end I decided to just keep it simple… simple always works, doesn’t it!?

I used old papers for backing the photos and some newer stuff from Dear Lizzy to embellish, but other than that the layout is quite clean. Instead of buttons or flair, I used some old brads from my stash that I’ve had for donkeys years. As I was scrapping directly into prebound books before, I was never able to use them, as you have to pierce into the page to put them on. But now that I am doing 12×12 I can!

And this is the layout:

Fine little day

And a close up of the brads:

The journalling is about how much my kids have changed. The first two times that the photographer visited the nursery, they both looked miserable and hardly smiled for the camera. And look at them now! Two completely different children!

I hope you have liked this layout, and read you soon!
