Today I am participating in two challenges. One over at Stick it Down with a sketch by Laura Rumble (I must say that it is not an easy one! It really took some thinking and some playing around until I found a layout that would work for me) and as the layout is so Monochromatic, I will also be entering it in the Colorful Creations mid-month challenge 🙂
Here is the sketch:
And here is the layout that I came up with!
This layout is goint to go in “the book of me“. When I created my Crazy Hair Don’t Care layout recently, I had to make it without any photos of my blue hair, as I couldn’t find any decent ones anywhere (I did find two, but they were scans of not so clear images, so they didn’t print very well) But a couple of weeks after making that layout I finally found this photo of me with blue hair! Yay! I absolutely loved my hair like this, and sometimes I wish I had the guts to have it done again! Unfortunately I am not 20 years old any more….
The papers are from Echo Park Creative Agenda. The tickers are Fitzgerald and the heart stencils are from The Happy Scatter, a shop on Etsy and the lady who runs it is a fellow scrapbooker from the UK! And that is pretty much it! The layout is so simple! I created the paste to put through the stencil with modelling paste and ink sprays. To get this colour, I mixed Turquoise Shimmer Mister, Teal Heidi Shine and a touch (literally, one drop) of Mr Huey’s Double Yellow. I am very pleased with how well the paste coordinates with the papers.

I hope you have liked this layout, and read you soon!
Today I bring you my first ever layout as a Guest Designer for Lottie Loves Paper.
Lottie Loves Paper is a British scrapbooking shop that offers monthly embellishment kits with add ons. The fact that the main kit is embellishments is a very big advantage for a lot of us scrapbookers who seem to have too much paper but never enough embellishments! I have been subscribing since they started offering kits last year.
I am so chuffed to have been chosen as a Guest Designer for the month of February. It is an honour! And the kit this month is so gorgeous that it makes it even better. It features items from current collections like Dream on by Pinkfresh Studio, Lovely Day by Dear Lizzy and a bit of Pink Paislee too.
This is my first layout for the kit, I hope you like it:
It was my 39th birthday yesterday! And what a better way to celebrate than creating a scrapbook page! This layout will be going in the Book of Me.
All the items in this page are from the kit, except from the black and white thread in the tags, the date stamp and the ink splatters are from my stash.
I hope you have liked this layout and hopefully I’ll read you soon!
Hello! For today’s Throw Back Thursday I bring you a layout that I made last month. I have only recently finished doing the stitching though! This is my first double layout on 12×12 ever! And I am so happy with how it’s turned out!
I am still using up the remaining bits and pieces from the Take Me Away kit that I got at the Paige Evans workshop. I remember thinking that the price of the workshop was quite high, but I’ve had so many bits leftover that it’s been totally worth it!
This double layout is for my Book of Me scrapbook and it is all about the places where I have lived and that I have got to call “home”. The paper with the map of Europe was just perfect and the moment I saw it I knew exactly what I wanted to do. The paper with the houses was also perfect to fill up the background on the other page. I added a tiny bit of watercolour underneath the photos, but only a tiny bit to give it a bit of interest but without taking focus off the images.
I hope you have liked this layout and read you soon!
Yesterday I attended my second crop of the month (gasp!) and it was with the lovely Artful Angels ladies. This is one of the layouts that I made at the crop, and it is a scraplift from the lovely Sarah, who attends the crop and who is also the owner of Lottie Loves Paper, where I get my monthly embellishment kit from.
This is her layout which I scraplifted:
And this is my take on it!
The background stripey paper is from Kaisercraft “Back to basics” collection, and the butterflies are cut from my 6×6 Crate Paper “Chasing Dreams” paper pad. The “adventure” copper thicker is from Shimelle’s “Go Now Go” collection, and the other alphas are Basic Grey from my stash (similar to these ones)
I added some watercolour to the white cardstock using the packaging technique, and I also matted my photo in some pink and gold paper from my stash (do not know the manufacturer).
This is the very first photo that I have scrapbooked about my wedding, and I have really surprised myself using pinks, as the main colour scheme of my wedding was turquoise/teal and black… Maybe I will scrap another photo in those colours another time 🙂
A couple of close ups more:
I hope you’ve liked this layout and I hope to read you soon!
Hello! Just a quick update with my crafty adventures from the last couple of days.
Yesterday I had some spare time and decided to tackle one of the tasks that have been putting some weight on my shoulders in the last few months, and that is transferring my old 8×8 prebound albums to D-ring albums!
I bought the albums and page protectors ages ago and had been sitting on my desk waiting to be done. But I had this idea in mind that I was going to do some sort of process video, with a flip through of all the layouts before I went ahead with detaching the pages from the book, so I just delayed it again and again.
But yesterday I finally did it! As it happens, I only had enough page protectors to complete two out of four albums, and now I have had to order some more!
Unfortunately, the pages are smaller than the page protectors, so the layouts are quite loose, but at least they are protected! And if anything decides to detach itself, at least it will be contained within the protector.
I am so happy that I did this! It also was a perfect opportunity to look at my old layouts and especially at some of them that I had completely forgotten, and also marvel at how my style has evolved in these three years. It is quite a crafty journey!
In addition to the 8×8 albums, yesterday I also bought a new 12×12 album which I am going to use as The Book of Me. It’s soft pink and hot pink, from the Paradise Crush collection and I absolutely love it, so happy with it! I have moved all the layouts that I have so far for the Book of Me and it is starting to look quite full! So many more layouts to make though 🙂
I’m the proud owner of TWO postbound albums now! Yay me!
