Scrapbook layout – Amigos de COU

Hi all!

Today’s layout has been made for the extra special “All 13 letters” ABC challenge on For the Love of Pretty Paper. We are on week 13 of our ABC challenge, and as an extra we have asked people to include all the elements that we have drawn so far:

Buttons, red, tags, food, material, journey, diagonal, wood, gold, numbers, languages, squares & kraft.

And here is my layout:

The less obvious items are:

Wood – there’s a wood button on the bottom right corner.
Gold – there’s gold in the “COU” alphas, in the twine in the tag and two little gold enamel shapes.
Material – the twine in the tag
Diagonal – two squares have been folded on their diagonal
Journey – the journalling describes part of my life journey

I used the Rough & Tumble collection again, as it was still on my desk from having used it on my “You Shine” layout just the other day. I thought the colours were great with this photo too!

There is a little red button under the photo in the layout above that I was not happy at all with, so after taking that photo I actually removed the button. Unfortunately, the paper underneath reaped a bit, so I added some word stickers.

Scrapbooking Layout – A letter to my father

Hello everyone!

This is a very small Throw Back Thursday, since the layout is only two weeks old! But I completely forgot to blog about it when I finished it, so here it finally is!

I started this page ages ago, in May… I applied gesso to the patterned paper background and then smeared some gold paint. Unfortunately, I hated the final result. Some people said to not give up and keep adding layers of mixed media. And that’s what I did. I wanted to make a layout about my dad, and because of the content of the letter, I knew I wanted the layout to be messy… hence I rescued the page.

So I added lots of ink sprays, modelling paste, more paint, splatters, stamping… And now I actually love how it’s turned out!

Here it is:

I know this is not my usual style, but I love getting messy with mixed media from time to time!

Scrapbooking Layout – Top Ten favourite albums

Hello all!

On Friday we chose a new letter for the weekly ABC challenge over at For the Love of Pretty Paper, and the new letter is N, and N is for numbers! This week we are asking members of the group to introduce numbers into their layouts, in any way they want! They can refer to a date, age, just random numbers as embellishments… anything!

So for my layout I decided to do a Top Ten of my favourite albums for my Book of Me (I will also be doing a Top Ten favourite films and another about TV shows at some point), and I must say that I love how the layout turned out! Here it is:

I picked a selection of pattern papers from some 6×6 pads and cut two stars with each pattern, one big and one small. I sued glittery thickers for my numbers and I also used other thickers for part of my title. I also stamped on my title, however, I think I am going to cover up the “of all time” with little alpha stickers as I am not too keen on how those little stamps look.
