What a busy few days, eh? I have posted brand new projects and layouts almost every day for the last 8 days!! Time for a rest 🙂 That’s why I thought today I would bring you a Throw Back Thursday with a card from a couple of years ago.
I made this card for the carers of my twins at nursery. Eric and Elisa were moving to the next class at nursery and the carers had done such a great job with them that I felt like I needed to say Thanks (and also gave them a massive box of chocolates, they deserved them!).
I still love this card. Sometimes I look at some of my early creations and I cringe a bit, but you can see that by now (this is May 2015) my style had evolved pretty much to where it is now. I used my scrapbooking supplies, like thickers and cardstock.
Anyway, I hope you like it and read you very soon!
Good morning everyone!
Today I bring you very exciting news…. I have been chosen to be part of the 2017-2018 Design Team for Silhouette UK!
Crazy or what?!
I applied on a whim, and got chosen! See? You never know if you don’t try!
My first project for Silhouette is due to be published next week and I can’t wait to get started and show the whole of the UK the amazing things that you can create with this super versatile machine.
You can find the Silhouette UK blog here, and you can also follow them on Instagram here.
Please, join me in this adventure… I hope you enjoy it as much as I will!
Today I want to tell you about UK Scrap Addicts, a new initiative to bring a spotlight to British scrapbookers. It is run by a bunch of very passionate ladies, and the aim is to make the world realise that we are not a “small fish” at all!
This is their mission statement:
“The UK is a small fish in the large pond of scrapbooking, and perhaps sometimes we feel a little overlooked. We want to recognise and showcase the UK scrap scene, UK designers and UK manufacturers, both small and large. Our plans include increasing the number of UK scrapbookers and showing the world we have a huge amount of talent to share.”
-To recognise the scrapbook scene in the United Kingdom, UK designers and UK talent.
-To grow the UK scrapbooking community; to encourage new scrappers.
-To share the UK scrap scene with the world.
They did a callout for a Creative Team back in early February and I emailed them straight away. This is something that I feel passionate about and I was eager to participate! So I was completely over the moon when I was chosen to be part of the team! Just today the team was announced over at Instagram.
So stay tuned! Blog posts will start appearing on their blog very very soon. There is also the aforementioned Instagram account and also a Youtube channel! Exciting times!
Hello! Just a quick update with my crafty adventures from the last couple of days.
Yesterday I had some spare time and decided to tackle one of the tasks that have been putting some weight on my shoulders in the last few months, and that is transferring my old 8×8 prebound albums to D-ring albums!
I bought the albums and page protectors ages ago and had been sitting on my desk waiting to be done. But I had this idea in mind that I was going to do some sort of process video, with a flip through of all the layouts before I went ahead with detaching the pages from the book, so I just delayed it again and again.
But yesterday I finally did it! As it happens, I only had enough page protectors to complete two out of four albums, and now I have had to order some more!
Unfortunately, the pages are smaller than the page protectors, so the layouts are quite loose, but at least they are protected! And if anything decides to detach itself, at least it will be contained within the protector.
I am so happy that I did this! It also was a perfect opportunity to look at my old layouts and especially at some of them that I had completely forgotten, and also marvel at how my style has evolved in these three years. It is quite a crafty journey!
In addition to the 8×8 albums, yesterday I also bought a new 12×12 album which I am going to use as The Book of Me. It’s soft pink and hot pink, from the Paradise Crush collection and I absolutely love it, so happy with it! I have moved all the layouts that I have so far for the Book of Me and it is starting to look quite full! So many more layouts to make though 🙂
I’m the proud owner of TWO postbound albums now! Yay me!
Facebook very kindly reminded me the other day of this layout, a very early one in my scrapbooking adventures.
I remember how proud I was of that page, and to this day, it’s still one of my favourite ones. It’s a lovely photo of me and the kids (despite it not being in focus) and I was very proud of having done some embossing on the blue cardstock.
Anyway, here’s an updated photo of the layout as it stands today.
