Scrapbook Layout – My boy’s a dreamer

Hello lovelies!

Today I bring you my third and last layout that I created at the Scrap Cafe crop on Saturday. It is all about my dreamy boy!

I am afraid that I did not pay much attention to the materials that I used, so I won’t be able to give you a comprehensive list of items used. However, I do know that the background sheet is from Shimelle’s first collection (which I bought off Lisa Jane at the crop!) and the journalling sticker is from the Cool Kid collection. The rest of the elements are from my stash and I can’t remember the names, sorry!

Here is the main photo:

Anyway, I hope you have liked this layout!

See you very very soon on one of the many National Scrapbooking Day challenges that I will participating in!

Scrapbooking Layout – Loved

Hello everyone! Pinch, punch – first of the month!

Can you believe it is May already? I can’t! January and the beginning of the year still feels like yesterday! Which reminds me, by the way, that at some point I need to do a count of how many layouts I’ve done so far this year. I joined a group on Facebook called 216 Scrapbook Challenge. As the name pretty much explains, it is a challenge to create 216 layouts in a year. It sounds like a lot, and it is quite a lot. I think it’s something like 4 layouts a week. If I could make 4 layouts every week I would be a very happy person! Anyway… I will be doing a count soon and see how many I’ve done so far.

So! Today’s layout I created at the Artful Angels crop at the weekend. Paula, the lady who runs it, mentioned that there were a pair of fringe scissors to borrow so that inspired me to create a layout that I had seen on Pinterest before and had been wanting to make for a while.

Well, let me tell you… This was NOT easy. I really struggled with the whole concept. I wasn’t sure how the whole thing was supposed to come together! And I am not 100% happy with the finished product, but considerably happy seeing I struggled so much!

Here’s my layout and the page I was inspired by:

But with my struggles came knowledge, and I have been thinking about the whole process and where I think I went wrong and I know that if I was to try again, I would approach the whole project in a different way and try other techniques.

I hope you have liked this layout and read you very soon!

Oh! And before I forget… It’s National Scrapbooking Day this weekend! Don’t miss it!

Scrapbooking Layout – Motherly Love

Hello lovely scrapbookers!

I attended the Artful Angels crop yesterday and had a lovely day, however, I was not very productive! I only managed to complete three layouts (although one of them was particularly difficult – I’ll show you that one tomorrow). I blame the girls I sat with… too much chatting!

The first layout that I created is the one that I want to show you today. I prepared the cut file on my Silhouette the night before as I knew what I wanted to do, which is unusual for me! I knew I wanted that design of cut file and I knew I wanted to use my Lottie Loves Paper kit papers. So off I went!

This is my photo:

And a couple of close ups:

So lovely

As I said above, I used Cocoa Vanilla Studio “Wild at Heart” collection mainly (it came with my April Lottie Loves Paper kit) and the navy paper with tiny white dots is from Shimelle’s Little by Little, but I felt that it went very well with the other papers and with the dress I am wearing in the photo!

I had a little incident when cutting the pattern paper for backing behind the cut file. I accidentally cut through the branding strip and I didn’t realise until it was way too late, as the glue had hardened and there was no way to remove it without damaging the cardstock! So I ended up covering it with a phrase sticker.

The alphas for “motherly” are also Cocoa Vanilla Studio, from a collection called Color Me Happy. They are white and I used watercolours to do an ombré effect. I love how they turned out! I tried applying watercolours to the foam thicker (“love”) but it didn’t work at all.

I hope you have liked this layout and read you soon!

Scrapbooking Layout – Hello gorgeous

Hello! This is the fourth layout that I created at the crop on Saturday. Despite having decided that I need to create more layouts of my daughter, I ended up creating two of my son and only one of my daughter! Next time I need to take just photos of Elisa so I avoid the temptation!

This is a very simple layout but I love how effective it is. I sprayed the background with some ink sprays (two Heidi Shines and one Tim Holtz, which is not as shiny as Heidi’s) and then used some Simple Stories’ DIY Boutique collection papers for a monochromatic feel. I added a few enamel shapes from the new Pinkfresh Studio No. 1 Mix, which are awesome!

Thanks for looking and read you soon!

Scrapbooking Layout – Il Mafioso

Hello!

This layout has been created to participate in the February Challenge over at the Stick It Down blog. This is the first time that I am participating, so I have no idea whether I am doing it properly 😀

This is the sketch for the challenge:

And this is my take on it!

Il mafioso

All the circles are from the Studio Calico “Atlantic” collection. It is an old one, and I have been forcing myself to use my old stash… as a way to justify all my newer purchases! There are also a few Shimelle wood buttons from her Go Now Go collection and some enamel dots from my stash.

The title is done with the pink paislee C’est La Vie alphas, which I love how big they are! My title is not that long, but the alphas fill almost the whole length of the page!

I hope you have liked this layout and thanks for visiting!
