Another layout that I created on Saturday night. This is probably one of my most favourite layouts recently! I looked on Pinterest for inspiration and saw a couple of layouts that used very geometrical backgrounds, and that was it. I knew exactly what I wanted to do!
For the papers, I used Studio Calico “Atlantic” Collection. I bought this paper pad ages ago and haven’t almost used it, so I forced myself to use some old stash (kind of to justify all the new goodies that I have been buying recently!)
The photos are layered with papers from First Edition “Paradise Crush” and also a paper cut from Heidi Swapp which I trimmed to fit the photos.
The embellishments are from Simple Stories “Heart” collection – I felt the colours coordinated quite nicely with the papers.
I hope you like it and read you soon!
Hello all! On Saturday night I ditched my husband and locked myself in my craft room for some scrapbooking! The idea was to find a sketch or challenge to participate in. I watched a Shimelle video recently that mentioned challenges in blogs, and I felt curious. I asked in the facebook group for advice and got several pages where I can find challenges. However, after what it felt like a long time, I realised that I didn’t fancy doing that and all I wanted to do was my own stuff!
So I managed to finish two layouts, which is great, although I went to bed so late! But totally worth it. I am so happy with how they came up.
Today I bring you “Fifty shades of cool“. The main papers in this layout are from My Mind’s Eye “Boy Crazy” collection. I did some white splattering (I mixed acrylic paint with watercolour – just because I knew watercolour alone wouldn’t show much) and also added some black enamel dots (Dovecraft 3D enamel effects)
The embellishments are mainly from Simple Stories “Whatever” collection and the title is made with a mix and match selection from my stash (the big thickers are from the “Regards” collection)
And here it is! It is quite minimal, but I really wanted to play with the title and make it the focal point (other than the photo, of course!)
And a couple of close ups
Read you soon,
Hello! Just a quick update with my crafty adventures from the last couple of days.
Yesterday I had some spare time and decided to tackle one of the tasks that have been putting some weight on my shoulders in the last few months, and that is transferring my old 8×8 prebound albums to D-ring albums!
I bought the albums and page protectors ages ago and had been sitting on my desk waiting to be done. But I had this idea in mind that I was going to do some sort of process video, with a flip through of all the layouts before I went ahead with detaching the pages from the book, so I just delayed it again and again.
But yesterday I finally did it! As it happens, I only had enough page protectors to complete two out of four albums, and now I have had to order some more!
Unfortunately, the pages are smaller than the page protectors, so the layouts are quite loose, but at least they are protected! And if anything decides to detach itself, at least it will be contained within the protector.
I am so happy that I did this! It also was a perfect opportunity to look at my old layouts and especially at some of them that I had completely forgotten, and also marvel at how my style has evolved in these three years. It is quite a crafty journey!
In addition to the 8×8 albums, yesterday I also bought a new 12×12 album which I am going to use as The Book of Me. It’s soft pink and hot pink, from the Paradise Crush collection and I absolutely love it, so happy with it! I have moved all the layouts that I have so far for the Book of Me and it is starting to look quite full! So many more layouts to make though 🙂
I’m the proud owner of TWO postbound albums now! Yay me!
Hello! Today I bring you one of my latest layouts. This page was so quick to make! It is a scraplift directly from the Simple Stories blog. The fabulous background paper is called “No worries” and it’s just perfect for a cute little boy layout.
The background paper already has got so many elements that I didn’t feel the need to add much more, so I only added a couple of details here and there, but without making it so busy. The big “Loved This” thickers are from Dear Lizzy’s Saturday collection. There is also some ephemera from the Cool Kid collection.
And not much more to to add about this layout! I just love how easy it was to put together and how effective it looks!
And a close up:
Thanks for reading!
Today I bring you another layout that I made at the Scrap Cafe crop last weekend. I love how this layout came up! It is scraplifted from a very talented lady at the For the Love of Pretty Paper page, although I loved putting my spin on it!
The layout is part of the Book of Me. I talked about recently how the alphabetical prompts that I came up with were not suitable for scrapbooking layout format, since many of those prompts don’t have a photo. So, luckily, Paula – who came up with the idea of doing monthly prompts for the Book of Me in the facebook group, posted the prompt of “Decades” just the other day. The idea is scrapping a photo of you from a previous decade. I went with these photos of me from the very early 2000s, when I had my hair dyed in so many colours!
The pentagons die cut I designed from scratch and cut with my Silhouette Cameo. I found it simple enough to create, however I am aware that it is not perfect. The gaps between shapes are not all equidistant. For the papers I used Simple Stories Sunshine and Happiness and for the embellishments I went through my stash and combined lots of different manufacturers and collections. Theres Paige Evans Take Me Away, Simple Stories Posh, and a mixture of Bella Blvd Little Bits Stickers. I love how they all come together in the layout! The gorgeous colourful Thickers are from Shimelle’s new collection Little by Little.
The only thing that I don’t love about this layout is that the cut is not centred to the page, it is slightly crooked! If it keeps bugging me, I may trim the edges of the paper to make the pentagons be centred and then mat the cardstock on some pattern paper. But we’ll see if it bugs me or not!
So, here it is! I hope you like it 🙂
