I’m in the Silhouette UK blog today with a fun tutorial on how to fake “thickers”.We all know how thickers are now a must have in every crafters stash, however they are not the cheapest and you are also quite limited by the words they sell. So I decided to create my own one!
Come over the blog to see how I made it!

Today’s layout is a “just because” layout. All the pages I’ve made recently were for a specific challenge, so it was nice to create just because for once! I played with several ideas in my head, but in the end I settled with this layout, which was loosely inspired by this lovely page by Pol Prince.
And here it is!
Apologies for the rubbish coloration on the photo. The natural light let me down! I have taken another photo but I am not sure if this one is any better! The colours are truer to the original, but the image isn’t sharp!
And a couple of close ups:

Today layout I made for the Mercy Tiara 27 Day Scrapbook Challenge on Facebook. The challenge was to use the following:
- Autumn related layout
- 4 pattern papers
- Use a stamp
- Multiple photos
- Include journalling on the page
- Use die cuts
In addition to the required elements, I also included three extra items from Moira’s tic tac toe challenge, which were
- Add journalling on a tag
- Use thread or twine
- Make it leafy!
And here is my layout!
It may not seem like it, but there really are four pattern papers in there! Two in the main vertical line, and two more mounting the photo 🙂 A couple more close ups:

Today’s layout is inspired by the first fortnightly sketch over at Stuck?! Sketches. When I first saw it I said “this is perfect to use my 5kg box of scraps” and I did! I used my box of scraps! I’ve only made a little dent on it, it is still 4.999 kgs 😀
Because the photo I was scrapping was of a rainbow, I knew I had to make a rainbow of pattern papers 🙂 Here it is:
And here is the sketch!
As you can see in the sketch, under the strips of pattern paper, there are some splatters of mixed media. I wanted to keep my background quite white, so I sprayed with my White Heidi Shine and the result is quite subtle, but I love the shimmery effect. I am not sure how well it can be appreciated in the photo. I also used a bit with Tinsel Heidi Shine and a few black watercolour splatters. I should have waited until the ink sprays were dry before adding the watercolour splatters, as they run a bit…
For the embellishments, I used “Life is Beautiful” by Fancy Pants, and some buttons and sequins from my stash.

I’ve got a new scrapbook page today that I created for the ABC challenge on For the Love of Pretty Paper. This week the letter is V, and V is for vellum!
I had a look through my stash, as I was sure that I had some clear vellum (well, “clear” is not really the right word.. it’s a tiny bit opaque, but you know what I mean), but I couldn’t find it. So I went for the last piece of the super gorgeous printed vellum by Cocoa Vanilla Studio. I took inspiration from this layout by Crafty Jen Schow that I found on Pinterest.
And here it is!
In case you are wondering, no.. Chole is not a spelling mistake.. there is a story behind the name, and I have a layout planned to tell that story soon!
I hope you liked this and thanks for looking!
