Scrapbook Layout – You loved this

Hello! Today I bring you one of my latest layouts. This page was so quick to make! It is a scraplift directly from the Simple Stories blog. The fabulous background paper is called “No worries” and it’s just perfect for a cute little boy layout.

The background paper already has got so many elements that I didn’t feel the need to add much more, so I only added a couple of details here and there, but without making it so busy. The big “Loved This” thickers are from Dear Lizzy’s Saturday collection. There is also some ephemera from the Cool Kid collection.

And not much more to to add about this layout! I just love how easy it was to put together and how effective it looks!

Scrapbook Layout – Crazy hair, don’t care

Hello all!

Today I bring you another layout that I made at the Scrap Cafe crop last weekend. I love how this layout came up! It is scraplifted from a very talented lady at the For the Love of Pretty Paper page, although I loved putting my spin on it!

The layout is part of the Book of Me. I talked about recently how the alphabetical prompts that I came up with were not suitable for scrapbooking layout format, since many of those prompts don’t have a photo. So, luckily, Paula – who came up with the idea of doing monthly prompts for the Book of Me in the facebook group, posted the prompt of “Decades” just the other day. The idea is scrapping a photo of you from a previous decade. I went with these photos of me from the very early 2000s, when I had my hair dyed in so many colours!

The pentagons die cut I designed from scratch and cut with my Silhouette Cameo. I found it simple enough to create, however I am aware that it is not perfect. The gaps between shapes are not all equidistant. For the papers I used Simple Stories Sunshine and Happiness and for the embellishments I went through my stash and combined lots of different manufacturers and collections. Theres Paige Evans Take Me Away, Simple Stories Posh, and a mixture of Bella Blvd Little Bits Stickers. I love how they all come together in the layout! The gorgeous colourful Thickers are from Shimelle’s new collection Little by Little.

The only thing that I don’t love about this layout is that the cut is not centred to the page, it is slightly crooked! If it keeps bugging me, I may trim the edges of the paper to make the pentagons be centred and then mat the cardstock on some pattern paper. But we’ll see if it bugs me or not!

So, here it is! I hope you like it 🙂

Scrapbook Layout – Beautiful family

Hello and welcome! I attended another crop on Saturday and I managed to finish four layouts! Yay me! I am actually so proud of myself, as I had a stinking cold on the day, not feeling 100% but I still gave it my all and came up with a couple of super great layouts! Despite feeling ill, I had a great time chatting with some of the Bracknell crew ladies 🙂

Today I bring you: Beautiful family. This layout has two main objectives: 1) To use Lottie Loves Paper January kit and 2) to participate in For the Love of Pretty Paper’s February challenge (tic tac toe challenge)

I designed and cut the hearts myself on my silhouette and used a sheet of Shimelle True Stories paper (one of my favourite papers too!) for the background. The embellishments (gold word and hearts, enamel dots and sequins) are from Lottie Loves Paper February kit. In addition to that, I also used some gold Heidi Shine and the thickers for the word Family were also from my stash. To finish off the tic tac toe challenge, I also did some faux stitching around some of the hearts.

I am very pleased with how this layout came up! Here are some photos:

Scrapbooking Layout – Beautiful

As I get ready to attend another crop next weekend (Scrap Cafe in Bracknell), here I am sharing another layout that I made at the Artful Angels crop last month.

I added the stitching at home only recently, as I thought that it needed something else and it was looking a bit bare in the edges. And so glad I did! It really works very well.

I just used my watercolours directly into the cardstock, I didn’t prime it with gesso first. But it is a 300gsm cardstock, so very thick, and I knew that the watercolour would be fine on it.

I then borrowed a few tiny punches from the crop table and went through my stash looking for papers that would match the watercolours. The papers used under the photo and for the photo corners are from the gorgeous Sunshine and Happiness collection by Simple Stories. It is such a bright and colourful collection, I love it!

So, as you can see, a very simple layout, but I just love the simplicity of it and how the photo is still the focal point. I hope you like it!

Crafting wishlist

It is my birthday in just a few weeks time and I have now updated my Amazon wishlist in the rare case that anyone other than my husband wants to buy me something 🙂 A gift voucher from a scrapbooking website is always welcome, but some people prefer buying actual presents, so in order to not disappoint, here is a list of five of those little things that I really need but I have not got round to buying yet. (Not really expecting anyone to buy me anything… this is just an excuse to write about the items that I will be buying myself in the near future…)

Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher

I have actually found myself needing a stapler in a couple of occasions lately and this one is perfect. I am not sure though if I would want the staples to be multicoloured, as I would want to be on top of which colour I am going to be stapling with.

Paper piercing tool

I really need this. I have been stitching more and more on my layouts, and this is the perfect tool for it! Until now I have been using an old stamp scrubbing mat which is very soft in the back so perfect to pierce, but not the best solution.

Notebook border punch

I just love love love this punch. I have used it a couple of times at the Artful Angels crop, but I would love to actually own it!

Fine line applicator.

I am tired of my glossy accents always being clogged up and I would also like to start using wet glue for some elements of my scrapbooking that won’t work with tape, so these applicators are perfect.

Echo Park Dots & Stripes

And something that I don’t need, but absolutely want! These gorgeous Echo Park papers with copper foil are just to die for. I WANT!
