Scrapbooking Layout – Hello Nature

Hello fellow scrapbookers! It’s finally Friday! Are you ready for the weekend? I certainly am!

The layout that I bring you today I made on Wednesday morning. My husband and I were very lucky to enjoy a short break sans-kids in Exeter at the beginning of the week. On Wednesday morning he had a business meeting to attend there, so whilst he was gone I took the opportunity to scrap a page. I had taken with me my March Lottie Loves Paper kit and other bits and pieces. So I took a table in the hotel bar area, and off I went!

I must admit that I felt a bit odd. I have only ever crafted in “safe places”, aka, my house or a crop with other like minded people, so being in a public space, being looked at by complete strangers made me feel weird a couple of times. I got a couple of people kind of interested, asking to look at what I was doing and asking a couple of questions. The waitress who brought me tea said that she scrapbooked from time to time, “but nothing this big”. From her description I think she keeps a smash book of some sort.

So, without further ado, here’s my layout!

Hello nature

As I have previously said, I took my Lottie Loves Paper kit, which has got papers from Cocoa Vanilla Studio and some embellishments from 1canoe2 Hazelwood collection. I also had some die cuts from the same collection, so I used those. On the layout there are also some paper laser cut flowers from Heidi Swapp, some faux sequins and other enamel hearts. I did some watercolour splattering. And the title is made of the hello sticker from 1canoe2 and the word Nature with puffy alphas from Freckled Fawn (which i love and I wish I had in every single colour)

Hello nature3

I must admit that I did not love having so little to choose from. I suppose in a way it is good as I was then forced to use what I had, but for example, that title is not what I had in mind for my photo. I wanted the title to be about Mother’s Day, but I didn’t have the letters necessary in the two different alphas that I took. This title is actually the third one that I came up with that I actually had the letters for!

I decided to do some hand stitching around the border when I got home on Wednesday night. It felt like it needed something extra, and this month it’s all about stitching on UK Scrap Addicts so I decided to do that 🙂

Anyway, I hope you have enjoyed this layout, and thanks for stopping by!

Throw Back Thursday – Thanks card

Hello everyone!

What a busy few days, eh? I have posted brand new projects and layouts almost every day for the last 8 days!! Time for a rest 🙂 That’s why I thought today I would bring you a Throw Back Thursday with a card from a couple of years ago.

I made this card for the carers of my twins at nursery. Eric and Elisa were moving to the next class at nursery and the carers had done such a great job with them that I felt like I needed to say Thanks (and also gave them a massive box of chocolates, they deserved them!).

Thanks card

I still love this card. Sometimes I look at some of my early creations and I cringe a bit, but you can see that by now (this is May 2015) my style had evolved pretty much to where it is now. I used my scrapbooking supplies, like thickers and cardstock.

Anyway, I hope you like it and read you very soon!

Scrapbooking Layout – Super Ice Cream

Hello and welcome again to my blog!

Today I am bringing you another layout that I created at the Scrap Cafe in Bracknell last weekend. This layout is a scraplift from the amazing Zoe Guest, a layout from her “stretch that collection” series. Her layout is called The Good Life and you can find it here.

By the way, did you know that Zoe did one of the most amazing things last month? She made her own version of March Madness, creating a brand new video every-single-day! Really incredible stuff. I bet she has raised quite a few bob for MIND!

So this is my layout that was inspired by her page:

Claire (Scrappy Nerd UK) helped me with the ruffling of the edges. I was trying to do it myself with a craft knife (I bite my nails, so I had no “self-tool” to do it!) but I was worried that I might damage the cardstock underneath. But she came to the rescue!

The papers used in the background and for backing my photo are from Dear Lizzy Saturday collection. The embellishments are a bit mixed. The happy faces and the word Super in the title are from Heidi Swapp and there are other elements from Kaisercraft and other bits and pieces from my stash.

I hope you have enjoyed this layout and read you soon!

Scrapbooking Layout – Bubbly Boy

Hello lovely likers!

On Saturday I was at the Scrap Cafe crop in Bracknell and had a super great time. I sat with Roxy and Claire (both of them are in the UK Scrap Addicts team) and also with Georgia and Amy, who were newbies.. this was their first time crop ever!

Unfortunately I wasn’t productive as I normally am, only finishing three layouts! I blame all the chatting and giggling… 🙂

The layout that I am bringing you today was the second layout that I created. I will show you the first one later on this week! And the third one that I created I can’t show you until next month, as I used a sketch that will only be reveal in May, in celebration of National Scrapbooking Week, I mean, Day (06/05/17).

This layout was created for the April challenge over at For the Love of Pretty Paper. We have been given four different colour combinations to choose from and had to base our layout on these colours. The combination that I chose was “Bright and Cheery”. And this is my layout!

Here are the colour combinations for the challenge:

I really enjoyed creating this layout, as it was very simple, clean and straight forward. No faffing around looking for pattern papers! I ended up doing hand-stitching over the vellum paper, however, I got my sewing machine out as Roxy said that she could set it up for me! Unfortunately, we struggled to get it going, and I have ended throwing the machine away. It has only given me problems since day one! Maybe I may try again in the future, if I have £50 laying around which I fancy spending on a new sewing machine…

Anyway, I hope you have enjoyed this layout and read you soon!
