I am over at the Silhouette UK Blog today with a super quick and simple project, ideal as a last minute gift!

It happens that it is the first birthday of certail twins that I know and I decided to make a little gift for the family, in addition to the presents and cards for the twins.

Silhouette UK Blog – One cut, three layouts

Hello all! Today I am over at the Silhouette UK Blog with a little tutorial on how I used one cut with my machine to create three different projects!

Because, if you are anything like me, you like to make the most of your scraps! (I am known to keep pieces smaller than two inches square, oops!) so being able to make three different scrapbook pages out of one cut is a win in my book!

I used a file from the Silhouette Store called Sunburst Square, but I am sure that this will work with any background files. I have used the cut as a stencil, the normal cut page and the negative space. And these are my layouts!

  1. Cheeky Smile. This was the first layout I made, as I used the cut as stencil and needed to be done first! I used acrylic paint and Heidi Swapp Color Shine for my background and then a mixture of elements from the Starshine collection and other enamel shapes from my stash. I also did a very very very lazy stitching around the border, as I felt that the page needed something extra. It is super lazy because there are only four holes in the page 😀Cheeky Smile

  2.  Usual Suspects. This was the second one. My intention originally was to flip the cardstock and use the other side, as this side was all full of ink and paint splatters. However, I actually loved the way it looked, so I created my layout on this side! I love rainbows, so I had lots of fun creating this one with a mixture of pattern papers and buttons.Usual suspects Usual suspects2 Usual suspects3
  3. Wonderful you. For this layout I used the remaining bits. I had added some perforated lines to the “rays” on the cameo, so I had stiched through most of them, using three different stitch patterns. This was actually quite fun to do! I attempted to channel my inner Missy Whidden doing some gesso and watercolour background, however, I think I still need lots of practice! For this layout I used mainly Pink Paislee’s Oh My Heart collection.Wonderful you Wonderful you2 Wonderful you4
I hope you have enjoyed these layouts and thanks for stopping by!

Silhouette UK Blog – Print and cut floral monogram

Good morning! Today I bring you my newest project for the Silhouette UK blog design team.

I’ve got a little secret to tell you… I have had my Silhouette Cameo for almost three years and I have never used the Print and Cut function… Until today! Crazy, huh? Being in the Silhouette design team is really going to make me make the most of my machine!

I was perusing the Silhouette Design Store and came across a gorgeous floral monogram, and I knew exactly there and then what I wanted to do: a beautiful scrapbooking layout featuring my precious little girl.

Please pop over the Silhouette UK blog to read more about my first adventure in Print and Cut!
