Today I bring you a brand new mixed media layout which is going on my Book of Me album, and it is all about my current obsession: Twenty One Pilots.
I know the band has been around for years, but I only discovered them at the beginning of 2017. My husband started playing their latest album in the car and although the style is not 100% my taste, I found them really catchy and suddenly fell in love with their music! I say that the style is not entirely my taste, because they have lots of elements of dance music (or “chunda-chunda” as I call it) which I am not keen on. However, the lyrics and more importantly the tunes are amazing, and I absolutely love the singer’s voice.
So this layout is really simple. In microsoft word, I pasted the lyrics to some of my favourite songs from their two latest albums, and send it to print! I have used 280gsm card, as I knew I wanted to do some mixed media and there is a bit of warping, but not too much, so I am quite happy. There is no journalling in this layout, as I think it speaks for itself.
Anyway, here are a couple of photos and a process video! I hope you enjoy it:
Read you soon guys!
Today I bring you two birthday cards! A long time ago I was an avid cardmaker, but when I discovered scrapbooking, cards took a hit and got a tad forgotten. I still make cards for very special people, however not as often as I used to. However, my kids have been invited to lots of birthday parties next month, so I thought that with a bit of planning I could make a few of them.
For these two cards, I have followed a sketch from Stick it Down blog. In the past I have taken inspiration from other cards on Pinterest or in the Stampin Up catalogue, but I don’t think I ever followed a sketch before! So definitely this was a first!
These are today’s cards and the sketch they were based on:
I hope you have liked these cards. There may be a couple more in a few days!
Read you soon! x
Hello lovely likers!
I am about to put all my completed projects into page protectors and albums, so I thought it would be a good idea to film one of those flip throughs or lookbacks or whatever they are called. Unfortunately when I started doing the video voiceover, my throat was really sore and I kept coughing. I hope people are not too putt off by this!
Anyway, here it is and I hope you enjoy it!
Read you soon,
Hello lovely likers!
It just occurred to me that you may not see much happening in here in the next couple of weeks as I get ready for NSD.
What is NSD, I hear you ask? It’s National Scrapbooking Day! Funny it’s called “National”, because it certainly is not just national, but INTERnational! The day started in the US and hence why it’s called National, however this “holiday” has been adopted by many other countries in the world! It will be happening on the weekend of 5th-7th of May.
I am taking place in two separate events (although they are both connected!). The first one is for For the Love of Pretty Paper facebook group. The event starts on Friday evening and finished on Sunday mid afternoon. In these two days there will be lots of challenges, prizes, games and chat. I am taking part in 5 challenges! Since I am hosting, I get to know the challenges in advance and prepare for them.
The second event is for UK Scrap Addicts. This event only takes place on Saturday, but there will also be lots of videos, challenges, prizes and blog posts. I am taking part in five of the challenges, so that means that I am very busy at the moment!
Hopefully you will be able to join us either on Facebook, on the UKSA blog and on YouTube that weekend!
Hello lovely likers! It’s the Easter holidays! Have you got anything interesting planned? And more importantly, will you be doing any scrapbooking?
Today I bring you another process video, and this time I have been a brave big girl and done a voice over! I hate my voice (like everyone else does, I suppose) but I decided it was time to face my fears.
The layout is about a mini break that my husband and I took in Exeter last week. I think this is the fastest “camera to layout” page I’ve ever done. We came back on Wednesday and by Friday I had already printed the photos! That’s a first!! The page was inspired by one of the UK Scrap Addicts designers and her page with hand stitching. Here’s her layout that inspired me.
Anyway, here’s a photo of the page and for more details, please see the video below!
Thanks for watching and read you soon!
